fast car for £7000

hi im after buying a car for about £6000 and want somthing special.Fast but bearing in mind i have 6 points for speeding,33 years old,5 yrs no claims. has any body any ideas.
i have been toying with the idea of a subaru sti the insurance is astronomical. please help

old mazda rx7 mk3 think you can find ones for round about 6 500

wagons n saloons are about the same ... very small difference (if we on about impreza)

some people who have fast ones... P20SPD and dave wallis ... ones that spring to mind ..

Probably one of the quickest cars around for that price is the Fiat Coupe 20V Turbo. I believe one magazine tested it at 0-100 in 14.5 secs which is pretty good. Handling only just copes though! Nicely specced, sounds really nice in an Audi UR Quattro 5 cylinder type way and still looks fresh even now IMO.

If you fancy something that won't get too much attention, how about Volvo T5 or Subary Legacy bi-turbo

Got to be an MR2 Turbo - 250ish bhp - right price range for a rev 3(after 94).
Insurance about £700 through owners club (points shouldn't make much difference).
