Only problem is Its not in this country - so will I fit??

I know Mr Clarkson wouldn't fit in an original one without having the door adjusted (hump for his head).
I believe he is towards 6ft 5.
I think it could be a tight fit.

Try and get hold of the firm who made the kit, they should have some idea, mind you, I am the same height as you, and I'm using the excuse that I won't fit as a reason for not having one, I would kill for one, but I won't fit!! Not that I've ever tried!!

You'll struggle tbh. When I was looking at them my mate who's 6'1" tried to get in the drivers seat & his head was out of the roof & knees up by the steering wheel.

Best off asking on here really

Its a LHD GTD made car with a 302cu in engine...

Its well priced but 1000's of miles away!

I think I'll buy it anyway and get it modified ala Clarkson's if needs be!

Sounds nice, do you live in Swindon? I'd love to have a look when you get it. Think I'm gonna get myself one next year now.

Cool

GTD do doors with bubbles in, to clear taller people. But I would imagine it doesn't prevent you scalping yourself if you're not careful when closing the door

Odd question, but would you take it on track? If so, you will have to wear a helmet, which will add another couple of cm.

Jay,

I live in Bristol at present... Though spend my days in Swindon and plans are a foot to move this way!

Assuming I get the car I'll be taking it everywhere! Its done less than 1000miles at the moment - soon sort that

It looks like the guy has suddenly realised how much the car is worth... Lets just say the price looks set to increase nearly 10 fold I think so I'll probably pass (I was expecting 3x price increase, but not a 10x and I'm not that keen on LHD)! Going to get someone who speaks the right language to speak to him tomorrow! Shame because its a lovely car, and now I feel I really should own one which is a bugger as they are £20k+ here

Jay, are you building an XTR? I'd love to see that sometime (oh and I think i've found some of your wanted ads too!!

Thumbs up

LMAO yeah I have ads everywhere, still getting offered quite a few but all near £40k which is double what I want to spend really.
One option for you is the Dax replica which I believe is more like 44 inches as opposed to 40.5 so you get extra headroom. Not true to the original dimensions but still a gorgeous car.

Pick my XTR kit up next wed & I'm taking time off between work to build it full-time so hoping to get it done quite quickly, you're quite welcome to come & have a look during/after build.

Deffo gonna be going for a 40 next, probably towards the end of next year but sub £20k ones are golddust atm
Awesome cars & the reason I sold my Z - Just can't beat that V8 sound

Wink

Sorry for being the purveyor of doom but what happens if you crash it????
If you've got your head sticking out of a 'bubble' on top of the car wouldn't it be the first thing to hit the ground?
Don't know about you but in the battle of 'head v tarmac' I'm prepared to put a substantial wager on the black gravelly stuff.

Right, got someone on the case at the moment! I don't want to spend too much or I'd have to sell the Skyline

(Fingers Crossed)

Jay - I'd love to see the XTR when its done - they look like an awesome bit of kit, though I don't think I'd be up to a build!

Ultima may be worth a look - I'll have to hit google - does it have a roof?

Update - GT40 in question would cost minimum of £42k (lets just say he was looking for nearer £5k to start with!)

Anyway I'm looking at alsorts of V8 cars at the mo which is nice I think I might supplement the skyline with some classic american muscle!

42k oh well, you would've been getting a bargain at 5k lol

You'll have to shout me when you're around Swindon, wouldn't mind seeing the Skyline
