i've got a 220gti turbo, look for oil leak from front right corner, head gaskets are common unless it has been fitted with a klinger gasket (you should see a bit of gasket sticking out from righ side, its a tri metal gasket, slight leak from gear box (probably mean diff is knackered, if mileage is around 80-90k then budget for a new turbo, mine went at 90k (after 50k miles of running twice the boost though) can't think of other at the moment, body is usually not a problem, rust isn't a problem
go to www.rovertech.net and ask the question
saying those faults i've had mine for 4.5 years now and apart from gearbox and clutch it's been very reliable

I had a 620Ti for a while as a company car and it ate gearboxes. Over a 3 year period it had 2 engines and 3 gearboxes but was great fun. It got thrashed every single day and I suspect the independent garage the company used for servicing used the wrong grade of oil. It went from 10,000 miles when we bought it to about 115,000 miles when it got sold, so not really a terrible reliability record given how it was treated.

I had a 220Turbo Coupe as a company car years ago. Overall I was glad to get rid ouf it and all the others who got the same car had equally bad experiences.
Pros
- straight line speed
- t Bar roof
- volume control on the steering wheel
Cons
- understeers for england
- permanent rattle from heatshield, dealer resolution "we've taken it off"
- Electric windows fail in the down position
I had mine for a year and changed it for a Celica GT, much better experience.

Well mine is sweet, have had no serious problems to speak of, just the usual HG Leak etc
Poly Anti Torque Steer mod - uprated suspension helps with the handling, my drivers side window failed - only after some attempted thievery - bent the window in the attempt.
Check for water in the boot, this could be rear lenses letting in water (sorted with some sealant).
Down points, brakes are crap - easily sorted check out Rovertech.net for the cure - engine has limitations - pistons can really only take upto 13.5psi (with a boost controller) as they melt if you surpass that, handling can be suspect - again can be improved see above.
The CAT Heatshields do rattle - but most people opt for a De-Cat to relases some more bhp - so this isnt an issue.
Depends what you want from it really.
IMO Get one!
