Whats better 5series or 3 series BMW?

My Dad just bought a 325auto Touring. And in my opinion I reckon the 5 series is a better drive.
Ok the 5 was a 530auto so it may have bit more poke, but I think its a smoother ride and handles better. Also the autobox seemed a bit more adaptive to the way the car was driven.
Do the touring 3's drive differently to the saloons?
BTW I've found why 3 series drivers never indicate. Damn things clunk like a metronome - irritating when sitting in traffic.

I drove a 530 prior to getting my previous uk turbo impreza it had the sport add on's , it was nice, very comfy, superb build but in the end it did'nt really float my boat. I would have modified it in to a pimp mobile but naaaaaaaa.
Maybe when I'm older.

have to agree the angel eyes are cool lights but who would want a bmw? what car made the M3 sports car of the year over a scooby and an evo ,yer M3's are quick in a stright line throw in a few bends and your better hope your ***** staff car's electronics are working or it's hedge city for you.
on a lighter note a few years ago i lived in portsmouth and the coppers had diesel bmws 525 (i thing) daft sod crashed 75% of them saying they were to powerfull demanded extra driver training.

That's it
I'm getting a cheap 5 series (current shape) for my everyday car - either a 530dse or 520se for about £8K
With ALL the toys. I'm fed up of my scoob guzzling the juice, Crap ABS, crap brakes, no A/c, Juddery clucth, feather light PAS blah blah etc.
I'm not saying the scoob is crap, but it's got too tedious to drive everyday. I need something to waft about and cruise in, without some Nova glueing itself to my rear end
Scooby is still being kept. Until I find something that's more interesting for the weekend
BTW I'll promise to indicate when I get the beamer
