Question

Ive got a 1996 306 d turbo which is a bit high on the miles but has been well serviced. Recently a friend bought a 1994 xrdt with similar mileage but his seems much quicker and is more economical...why is that???
I thought the mechanics were the same on them...if anything i thought mine might be quicker being the 'sportier' model but it's well sluggish in comparison.
P.S. can i apologise to you Scooby owners for having to read about diesel problems!!!

Common problem is the Air-mass meter gets clogged up with crap, it can be cleaned out, but suspect it will need replacing.

You can get a tuning box option for the 306, relase a few more BHP and a hefty torque figure.

Is cleaning out the meter a DIY job (if so how???) or one for the professionals?

As for the tuning....who would i see about that???.....Cheers.

LAD motorsport, skip brown cars, peugeot ecosse, pug performance
will probably all do 130-140 bhp conversions for 306 dt's usually just a chip and induction I think.
