Hi my friendly scoobynetters!

I want to know where the oil pump is located on my engine? It is a 1989 HCS 1.1 Litre engine.

I think the oil filter screws onto it so it's round the back of the engine, under the inlet manifold

I would have thought inside the engine/crank case. Cant confirm though.
It is basically the same engine they have been using since the 50's ( and still use today in some models!! ) though, so someone here must know.

Thanks for the replies, the part on the back of the engine that the filter screws onto has a gear drive that goes into the block, is that any help?

Bob is correct.....the oil filter screws onto it and it bolts to the back of the block with 3 (i think) bolts. When you remove it it has the gear drive sticking out of it into the hole in the block where it bolts too

Its driven off the cam shaft
