Exclamation

Richard Squire on here had (or maybe still has) one, and my nextdoor neighbour had one too - now masquerading as a Pike's Peak car, approx 750bhp, Stig Blomquist driving

(Both genuine cars, not copies)

Non-Evo cars were 1.8 Cosworth BDT lumps while Evo's had extra cooling 'ears' added to the roof scoop and a 2.1 Cossie BDT-E lump.

This is my dream car. Forget 22B, Type R, Integrale, Evo whatever, Group B cars are where it's at...

Not anymore.. sold it a while back..

it was a road one increased to 1.9l and with most of the EVO bits eg head, gearbox, brakes and the EVO intercooler intake..

Thumbs up

standard RS was 1.8BDT

Evo version 2.0BDG (2.0 litre max in Gp.B rallying

later non-homologated Rallycross cars ran 2.1 Litres

the evo versions never got used in rallying as Gp.B. was banned before the factory got to use them

The RS1700T was rear wheel drive using the same BDT as the RS200 but in a slightly different config to fit under the Mk3 bonnet

Gotta say I Love these Grp B cars : never saw an RS200 driven in competition unfortunately but I may try to get to a rallycross meeting this year to see one in action, 6R4's do however sound great in my opinion : I've seen Stephen & Tom Morris's 6R4 on Scottish/N England tarmac rallies and it's a fantastic sounding car !
