Getting bass in an e36 M3 evo....

Im wanting to put a sub in my me vo..but Ive herad that the bass doesnt travel form the boot compartment to the car..is this true?...if so how is this problem combatted?

Had a 12 sealed sub in my M3 Evo and the bass was fine...and I had 6x9 speakers on the shelf.
Most installers would recommended free air subs on a baffle board on the rear shelf...but to answer your question the bass does travel through the rear seats

Now admittedly Im biased to this shop. As I kow the guy whose one half of it. And I bought my amp and sub from them.

Most of the M3 with installs I have seen have had two 10in subs behind the rear seats.
takes a lot of boot space away though.
