Cool

Ok - I've looked into this - and I'm VERY tempted....
Currently a 3.2 Owner and perhaps thinking of a lower maintenance vehicle as well as a bit more poke

Options....
1) Stick with my 3.2 - lovely car - all sorted etc..
2) Boxster 3.2.... excellent handling - a little bit too trendy for me and not a great fan of convertibles - but had a standard Boxster before and its good !
3) 993 - Seen the one I like - a little over budget + will require a bit of belt tightening to afford it ...... concerned about it being OTT *

* 993 C4S with 30K miles, fully loaded - immaculate - BUT (!) - the car was owned by a Porsche technician who serviced it himself - but didnt log the details with the Porsche database - hence fully stamped book but effectively NO PSH
4) Go for something wild and wacky - ?22B ?964RS ?M3 (perish the thought )

So - over to you the panel - should I, shouldnt I........

For what it's worth I always try (note that word 'try') to avoid any car that involves belt tightening. Why? well quite simply so much of the fun goes out of the window. You're always contemplating how much it's costing you, maybe feelings of guilt come in if costs influence not only yours but your families quality of life. Cars are there to 1) get you from a to b and 2) to be enjoyed and have fun with. They are most certainly not there as a burden.

Spend 14k on buying a UK-supplied post-1996 Toyota Supra Mk4(sat-nav, leather, the full monty ) , you'll get 326ghp of poke and then tune it to 450-500bhp with 5000 grand. The engine is BULLETPROOF. The build quality is Toyota(aka great). Loads of street cred, loads of fun, Toyota maintenance costs. if you want a low-miler, get an Import with 9k-13k quid and about 40k miles. And you can forget about all the porsches of the world. My best mate has one, and never looked back.

Thumbs up

If the 3.2 is now sorted stick with it, at least for a while.
What's the sense in passing on all the work & money for someone else to enjoy?

If you are just pissed off with it, or it's now a case of been there done that, then fair enough move on. Dunno what to tho...

If you still like the car but want it to be quicker, then supercharge it

£0.02

If you are happy with teh 3.2 stick with it for 12 months, at least you know its sorted. You could end up buying someone elses troubles. Just make sure if you decide to keep it that you fix the term at 12 months or you'll be thinking of something new all the time.
