Does anyone know how the rear seats come out of a BMW 5 (E34)? If so, can you please post details

The lower part of the seat simply lifts up and out as described. Never removed the upper bit.

you have to give it a bloody good pull to get it out!

try this, i think its the same as the e34:

Get in the back of the car, straddle the tranny tunnel, get your fingers under
the bottom of the seat and PULL UP. It's pretty easy actually once you've done
it. Don't worry there's nothing to break. The airbag sensor is under the seat
in the middle. (at least it is in the coupe).
