At the right(?) price, would this be a good mile eater option? (my dad has a 2.5 which is great for m-ways).
Seems in good condition (P reg 3.0 with 100,000 miles) but obviously been a motorway police car (in white) and may have had some panels replaced from chases etc. (is this REALLY a problem?) And obviously will have been fully serviced.
I have the s2000 for fun but wouldn't mind a largish motorway crusier.
Oh & people will obviously think I'm a plod on the m-ways! Is this a bad thing?
Lastly what ££ would be appropriate?

They are great cruisers, v.v.v.comfy but ex-police cars do tend to be very well used.
Also beware of all the bits drilled out of the dash for radios, lights videos etc....
on another note I still have the theory book for you if you want, sorry I missed you last time.
cheers,
Simon

These cars are supposed to be maintained regardless of cost, so apart from the doughnut stains on the seats and the holes in the dash etc where their kit has been attached, ex 5-0 motors are a fairly safe bet.

Some have been tweaked a bit under the hood and the suspension to cope. They say they don't tune them but a few police omegas have been spotted at courtney motorsport in the past.

my father has an omega 2.5 v6 and i drive it alot.
on the motorway it is a joy, sooooo comfy and massive cruising ability.
what i dislike is the lack of mid-range pull, you really have to rev them to get them to shift (automatic i am talking here). i suspect manual ones are better, but you will lose the ease of the drive esp in traffic.
the engine that my mothers senator had, straight 6 24 v, was by far a superior lump - soooo much quicker and stronger!
found the omega a let down after that car. i would look for a senator over an omega - way better IMO.
other than that not a bad car. watch for the front suspension, just had it replaced at a cost of about 900 quid!
and the manifold gasket on one side has blown and the engine has to come out
repairs can be very costly!
tell you what thoguh, the stereos on them are bad bwoy, i play alot of jungle/drum and bass and it really kicks ***!
weava
ps: not to be under estimated on twisties either, depends what your left foot braking is like mind
