Civic Type R
#1
I might be P/X my UK300 for a Civic Type R.
Can anyone answer the following questions on the Civic or point me to a Type forum please.
Is it easy to install a different head unit?
What sort of mods and power out put can be done and gained?
Are there any replacements for the headlights?
If anyone want to make me an offer on MY01 UK300, please feel free.
offered £16500 as PX. 10k miles, full service history, Private plate, ITG Panel Filter, 4 month old Blitz DTT.

Getting up to 230-250bhp is possible relatively cheaply. Beyond that is a struggle, and will absolutely definently require an LSD. Spoon and Mugen make them for track use and they cost around £1200+ fitted!!!
From what I've read,m the maximum conversion so far is 310bhp from Mugen but it will cost a small fortune, both your kidneys and the title deeds to a small country of their choosing!

I would disagree - modifying a Type R to get any decent gains in power is not easier and relatively expensive for what you get !
It requires head work and extensive exhaust replacement....
The only other way is fitting a supercharger - which as you can imagine isnt cheap.
The type R engine is already a highly tuned beast to obtain 200BHP without turbocharging.

I've got an S2000 (fantastic car!)
What do you wanna know?
RWD, 240BHP, 0-60 in 5.5. Certainly fun!
go to www.s2ki.co.uk for more extensive info onthe S2000.

I know Jackson Racing and another American company made a supercharger for the VTi but didn't know anything about a supercharger for the ivtec CTR. Any links?
Thanks, Andy.

You don't get the kick like what you do with the scoob, but it is better on fuel economy, cheaper insurance, and a year old one was up for sale at £1000 less than a new one, so they also hold their value, unlike my UK300.

I'm sure there's bound to be more and more companies producing styling parts for the Type R. There doesn't seem much there at the moment, so it will only be a matter of time.
