EVO 7/8 - to FQ 300 or not
#1
Trying a EVO VII FQ300 on thursday and vaguely thinking about ordering an EVO 8.
I know I should be asking this on MLR forum really but theres lots of Mitsi owners on here as well.
Given that I'm only considering a UK car is the extra £2k for the FQ pack worth it. Anyone here tried both on the existing EVO VII? Unfortunately the dealers dont have a non FQ car for me to try.
Std 8 looks a bit heavy on paper 1410kgs thats 195bhp/ton territory bit low compared to 217bhp/ton for the P1.
Edited to say Oops - I bet I get my wrists slapped and this thread moved to other marques forum.
Sorry moderators.

For gods sake man, don't buy a 7. The 8 is 4k less and I'm sure that it will be a much better car. The 7 is the real runt of the pack and it's value will drop like a stone.... besides, why do you want a FQ when it is little more than an exhaust and a bit of extra trim?
The smart money would be on a very low milage 6 but if you want a new one then hold out for the 8.

Trying the 7 cos the 8s not out yet.
FQ pack is according to dealer exhaust big enough for a small animal to live in, ECU remap and carbon trim. I agree it looks a bit steep for 2k!

I drive an FQ300 Evo7 and an STI8 (couldn't get a definate date for an Evo8 so had to get a 7). The Evo is a really nice car, probably a better drive than the STI 8 (though I prefer the subaru). Haven't driven a non-FQ'd car, wouldn't imagine it's that different though. Not really sure what's going on with that exhaust, it's almost as OTT as the STI scoop. J
