I've from Swiss friends that Alpina'a modified 4WD BMW 330xi with 280hp is an absolutly great drive. Anyone tried one?

Been passengered in one in Germany, very good but IMO the RWD is better, if nothing else, the Xi sits a fair bit higher and it does spoil the appearence. Can see the attraction in 'snowy' Switzerland, but other wise i'd save the cash, tranmission losses and aesthetic compromise and go RWD....plus IIRC the Alpina 330xi (B3.3x I think although his was de-badged) costs more than an M3 you've got to REALLY want the AWD
