Friend of mine says he saw a new mini cooper on the forecourt of his local Mini/BMW dealer... apparently 2.5l 6 cyclinder engine...

Does this car exist ? Is it due to go into production - or am I behind on the latest news ?

There's a 'works' package due out soonish taking the Cooper S to a fully warrantied 200bhp. But no 6 cyl.

Theres a M3 engined new shape BMW MINI running in the Belcar champoinchip in Belguim.

RWD, longditudley (sp? soz) mounted, spaceframed fromt end for it to fit, but externally looks like a normal new shape mini.

A 2.5L six in a Mini! LOL! Would that be a longitudinal or transverse installation?

Surely a straight-six would never fit and BMW only do straigh as opposed to V-configuration engines at the moment...

Therefore, sounds v.unlikely to me but am standing by to eat my hat...
