Trade Sales in Slough - customer service not great but worth the savings on offer. It's a massive operation, so they've got a reputation not worth losing. They also tend to spec the cars up better than UK to make the import "gamble" easier to make. The only thing you don't get a is a stereo, which is a pain if you want a VW original - they've very expensive from a VW dealer (like £700 for a cassette/tuner and CD player). Or you can get a decent aftermarket one for about £300.
You might make bigger savings elsewhere, and have more of a choice on the spec - e.g. sports suspension, centre rear headrest, heated seats etc. Do a search on Google - there's a lot of them out there.

Try broom-broom.com. I have no connection with them but they are based in the same offices as us and always seem to take very good care of the cars. My friend bought a PD150 Golf TDI from them and was very pleased.

My mum got her Golf GT TDi 130 from The Import Company - www.importcompany.net - and they were very good.
Re. The stereos. It's a common problem on imports, as they dont come with standard VW stereos in Holland (where many are from) due to tax reasons. They usually just have some crappy pioneer/sony thing shoved in which isn't the best.
My advice would be to look on eBay for "VW Gamma" which is the stereo which comes with it in the UK - they're very good for manufacturer units, one of the best I've heard. They usualy go for about £100, which is a bit of a bargain.
