Check out the FFOC (Ford Focus OC bbs) which has a forum devoted to the ST170.
I think there's a couple of niggles about the car, but most are curable.
Standard Focus handles well, so this model should provide extra thrills.

My father's Rover 400 is quicker. My Honda CTR has killed one stone dead! I hear from a friend in a 172 that he minced it as well!

CTR and Clio 172/Cup are completely different cars.
I wouldn't put the ST170 in the same league really, despite the number of horses under the hood. The Focus just doesn't do it.
