Honda CTR Head Lamp help!
#1
Hi Gang
Just love my CTR, 7000 miles......no problems. One thing i would like, BETER LIGHT output!
The standard lamps are very poor on dipped and ok ish on full. My old RS 1800 Ford would flood the road with light for good fast night driving.
Are there any fixes to this problem? I don't want to melt headlamps or wiring here........a mild improvment would do.
Cheers
Mega.
P.s Has any CTR pilot tried tyres other than Brigdestones as yet?

Have you tried the CTR forums? I'm sure there was a topic on uprated bulbs on http://forum.hondarevolutions.com/index.php or was it http://www.civictype-r.co.uk/phpBB2/index.php
Did you got from a Scoob to a CTR?

well the philips vision plus i fitted to my vectra didn't make much noticeable difference exept for my wallet being £30 lighter, i've heard of people buying piaa bulbs for about £60 which are supposed to be good but don't last as long

Thanks Guys
I wouldn't draem of going to the Honda BBs for advice. They just fart on about "Taking EVO's" and forget that i own an CTR and have driven an EVO! (Bulsh*t tales belive me).
The Honda BB's also tell one thing and then the next post they don't do it! I was hope ing for someone to say" It uses a 35 W bulb, but the wring can take 45 W bulb" Sort of thing.
I wonder if the Jap or us version has better lights? And do they use the same wiring ?

I think the Jap Civic Type R has HID lamps as an OEM option (I might be getting confused with the Integra).
I would assume the main loom to the units would be the same just the actual lighting units and their local wiring would be different.
Might we worth having a trawl about some websites.

A lot of CTR owners have Ring Sportz Blues about £20, rated 110/80W.
Or if you want to play safe, then Phillips Vision Plus @ £17.50.
As for tyres - I stuck with the Potenzas when I replaced the fronts. I find them pretty good, except in the wet .

I bought the Bosch Xenon bulbs for my CTR from Halfords for £8.99 each. Had them fitted to my Scooby (obviously not the same ones!) and they were good. Even better on the CTR believe it or not, I guess it's because the reflector technology is better than my old MY98 was.
