Excess Tyre Noise????

I have a 5th Gen Honda Prelude 2.2VTi
At low speeds I am getting loads of tyre noise more than any other car I have ever driven. I hope it is to do with the tyres that are on the car.
I have only recently bought it and it has 17" wheels with tyres that I have never heard of before. They are called "MARIX ecology ES-01 215/45 R17 87W" and I reckon they were the cheapest tyre the previous owner could find.
Has any one else even heard of these or have any experience with them. They are not very good in the wet either.
Does anyone else get alot of tyre noise at lowish speeds?
Do you guys reckon the typre noise is due to crap tyres?

IMHO could well be down to the type of tyres and the larger dia and width, may i suggest you stick this in the Wheels, Brakes and Tyres section, i would do this but i do not mod this forum.
