From my previous post has anyone know of a mis-fire on one cylinder only on a GTO ?? ANy advice for mate who is struggling with this one greatfully received

Could be a number of things. First off, check the plug leads and the plug. If it's an older GTO, the plug leads could be degrading. If it's a newer one, less likely, so check the plug for correct gap, etc.
