Ah having just looked up, there were 10 built, date of manufacture was 97.
Has anyone ever seen one of these cars or owned one? (think they were 40k new or something stupid like that! )

This was a N/A car, used the 2ltr 16v lump from VW, was in that pheonix bronze or whatever its called and was made especially because SEAT won the rallying.
I remember seeing one at the motorshow, there are a few features around about them but they are very rare (and expensive!)

Don't forget the Lancia Delta Integrale (205 - 215bhp)
World Rally champions for several years and more along the lines of a Scooby than a Seat ever was !
Kankunnen certainly seemed impressed with them !

Let us not forget the 205 1.9 GTi, now that was sh*te off a shovel don't know the bhp but I'm sure it was pretty quick.... and going back to the dark ages, anyone remember the Datsun SS back in the 80's had a 5spd box probably the first...

I had a 91 model sorento green 1.9.. it was great. more sideways than it was straight..
A mate of mine had a G60 Rallye. it was a nice car, but was quite heavy.. he used to get waisted on the lanes on our regular visits to Wales...LOL.... and he used to be quite good.. HPC member and all that....

I heard there was a limited edition 210BHP golf, not sold in the UK though. The Rallye's we had were 160BHP.
Pulsar GTIR was launched in 90n / 91 in Japan, I think 92 in the UK? 220+ BHP 3 door hatch. Escort cossie was launched around the same time.
205T16, Delta S4 all 80s cars with >200BHP in road trim, 200 of each had to be sold to qualify for rallying, so Audi Quattro in 1980 is the ealiest 200BHP hatch I can think of
Don't remember that Seat, but at 40K I'm not surprised!

The G60 was only 2wd, the rallye was 4wd which used the same engine :P
The Golf G60 had a 1781cc supercharged 160bhp engine. It came out in 1989. 4WD and pretty quick though

Vate you missd one...
'88 - '90ish Golf Mk2 16v Turbo Technics - 180bhp at .55bar
if only the fueling and engine management had been better it would have been at .75bar and 210-220bhp... :-)
