A mate of mine bought a focus RS about a month ago to add to his fleet (BMW 540, Z3M, range rover, land rover and golf gti v6)

He has now sold it, for a small profit, because he thinks it it the most dangerous car he has owned. Fast, excellent roadholding and brakes sure, but unforgiving in the extreme in conditions less than perfect - prone to understeer at moderate speeds in the wet if you hit bumps or road repairs, as traction is applied eratically.

Told him he needs an STI, but he only buys european badged cars, and a DB7 v12 will be the replacement... wish I was as rich....

Please check your lapbelt is secure and your seat in an upright position. Place your head between your knees and assume the 'thread crash' position

He should invest his £300 in some driving lessons. If he can't handle a FORD Focus !!!!!

Hmmmmmm....This confirms the other sad tales i hear. I do a small amout of Work for the Jag Factory up here in Liverpool. As such i got a go of the very GAY St 170 before it was laurched.

My contact had a drive in my CTR was just stuned by how much better than the ST it was! Told by his boss, who said that the RS will sort that and he should learn how to drive fast!

His boss went to wales to try the RS, came on the gas just as the road fell away a little. It pulled the steering and he ran into the egde of a ditch. There was a nice tree stump awaiting! He wrote off the wheel and there was some suspension damage as well.

Can't help but think the CTR would have just had a bit of wheelspin there, thats all
Mega.

BMW 540, Z3M, range rover, land rover and golf gti v6
Lardy cars with lots of electronics to keep them on the road.

Oh, well at least with the Aston it will have the electronics and is still a Ford (with a little imagination).

Z3M has absolutely NO electronics to keep it on the road, and can hardly be considered lardy Said by many to be the purest and best handling car of the 90s.
