The original concept of this beast was to give motoring journalists the feel, and thrill of an F1 car. It was built at the time when the Hill, Schumacher thin g was at its height, and was pretty much just a renault show off device. pretty effective though. i beleive it was at one point one of the fastest accelerating machines on the planet!

I've actually seen that thing It's in a Renault showroom type thing in Paris

It has to be seen to be believed. I've never seen so much carbon fibre before I think I was getting some funny looks when i tried to get a close look at the brakes

Definitely Cool

I remember when i was at Silverstone a few years back for the British GP, they done a few laps in it.

Anyone remember Fords doing the same with the Transit?

Question

Have you read the spec? Why is it sad? Seems like a lot of thought has gone into this and is quite innovative.

I dont think its sad, i think its quite innoative personally, quite a technical feat to whack an Espace onto a F1 car, I'd drive it

It was the 1995 GP at Silverstone and they took Ken Clarke round - you could see him hanging on for dear life. They put the body shell on top of an active FW15 if my memory serves me correctly. This was the year that Johnny Herbert won after Schumacher and Hill went out after a "coming together". I thought it would be good for burning off flash harrys at the lights, except it's just as loud as a normal F1 car.
