Arden Upgrade for X-Type
#1
Now I have my car and want to start tinkering with it.... albeit the idea of Gold alloys was immediately dismissed by him inside the doors.......however I still think it might look pretty cool.
Has anyone had the Arden Upgrade ? it costs about 9k it would make the car look pretty nice - but just wonder if it would affect the resale value at all.
Anyone know anything about it?

P,
Have seen several Arden cars around Coventry, and they look fantastic. Would certainly go for the exhaust upgrade, either with four pipes, or two larger diameter pipes. Would get the suspension and wheels sorted too. One of the local X-Types has the Gold split rim detroit style alloys from an XK on it and looks fabulous. You can pick these up in as new condition for about £1k, so that'd save some cash.
Leave the motor alone, and if you still have some cash left, upgrade the brakes. It wil lnot add significantly to the retail value of the car, but provided you keep all the original parts to put back onthe car, you'll be able to sell the upgraded kit separately.
If you're going to get some nice alloys, wait until spring, when all the salty crap is off the road.
Matt
PS - Might be worth checking out Lister, and also Chasseur, if they still exist
