My mate says it's Twin Turbo and won't belive me when I tell him it only has one turbo as I don't know what it stands for. So what is it? Turbo Touring? Tarts Trap?

The TT in the Audi TT stands for Tourist Trophy which is annual race run on the Isle of Man where a beefed up car was called a "TT". The event usually includes many different types of cars and motorcycles.
Bit odd as the TT is a bike race. Could be bollox though. Anyone know for sure?

Why all the "Total Toss" and "Total Turd" comments? The TT is a pretty good car for the money:- good quality, reasonable performance etc. Admittedly it is a bit of a girls car though.
Perhaps you're all a bit insecure that a TT can give you a run for your money? Or maybe you're jealous?

After a bit of digging it is Tourists Trophy. It was named in honour of the historic win by NSU (part of Audi) in the Isle of Man TT motorcylce race in 1954. They took 1st, 2nd and 3rd place.
Howver it wasn't the first Audi TT. Anyone fancy one of these?
