Easy this :

Dont listen to fatty Clarkson.

SMG 1 - M3 E36 - AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE!!!! - Very poor
SMGII - M3 E46 - GET ONE!!!!!, As of tomorrow read up on it at www.bm3w.co.uk (site is currently down), I dont know one owner who hasnt loved SMGII!!

Unhappy

I had an E46 M3 with SMG. Not that sure about SMG. Great when on a track, great when in a major jam at 5mph. Everyday driving took skill not to make the passengers sick. Plus mine broke down

Hopefully when BMW release SMG III at some point it will be 100%.

SMG I was on the E36 M3 and was awful (I had one for a while). Clunky and took a second to change gear.

SMG II is on the E46 M3 and is supposed to be much better.

Thumbs up

Careful with the launch control ...
Allegedly after 8 launches its new clutch time.

If I bought an M3 I would have SMG.
