The Golf has done it's job, and I want a proper car again!!!
I've had all sorts of ideas, but nothing really made me think, I WANT that!
So the short list seems to be (in no particular order):
Mazda RX7
Toyota Supra
Nissan SX200
Nissan Pulsar GTIR
Honda Integra
I have a budget of about £10k, which is flexible.
There are no concerns about practicality (not an issue as my girlfriend has a sensible car!) or fuel economy (as it's a 10 minute walk to work, so it will only be used for fun!) Reliability would be nice (although I guess that's why we have AA!! )
More concerned about places in the Surrey/SW London area that could service and repair it!
I don't want to modify it, but I am prepared to buy a modified car.
Can anyone help with who sells these in the South East? Or useful websites?
Already have:
http://www.japvillage.com
http://www.mkivsupra.net
http://www.fduk.org
Cheers

My friend bought a Yellow MR2 Turbo from JapVillage last saturday. It cost 7.5K and its lovely, goes like a rocket. Everyone at JV was really nice and professional. A big thumbs goes out!

Thanks DAYZEE, I'm not a fan of the MR2's, but I've heard very good reports about Jap Village!
I think someone mentioned they will change the rotor tips (??) on RX7's before they are sold, to save a costly repair (£1200-3000) at a later date!! I don't understand the mechanics of the Wankel engine completely, but the car looks

Evo 4
Skyline R32
Top Marques
There are a few R32's for around 5k on there you may get a bargain.
I'd offer you my evo 6, but I'd want more than 10k for it
BTW, how are ya? Long time no see

Hi Derek,
Hope you are well! I assume you are still enjoying the delights of a *standard* Evo6!
The Skyline is too big, not keen on big cars!!
As for Evos I'd rather have an Evo 5 and can stretch to it, but I'm not sure if I should !! Too similar to the Impreza, and I spent far too much money in the past!!!

Out of the list, I prefer the looks of the RX7 over the others! Considering it was released in the early 90's, it still looks fresh!
I would prefer a 1999 one (so I can use my private plate!!!) but they are going for £20k!!
Not sure about leaving it parked in the street though!

Always liked the thought of a 280ps 1.3 litre...
However if you don't keep on top of maintenance they can go bang spectacularly (I've heard). Still, they look like a cracking car to have some fun in.
Yup, it's still standard, and looking to stay that way for a while... unless I get so skint I have to sell it. Yours for 17k sir 18k miles and one minor ding (fixed under insurance).

Supras are excellent, but just as big as the skyline (so you probably don't really want one!)
RX7's are amazing. You know you want one.
(PS buy a cheaper early one and save you're money for a proper rebuild and more power!)

Anyone got any ideas on where you can get a sensible insurance quote for an RX-7?
Given my current difficulties in trying to get Seat to make me a car I've been considering one instead, but there is no way I'm going to be paying near on 2k to insure a 9k car

Thanks for the info guys!
Adrian, not really my bag!
Danny, I was going to give you a call anyway!
Ian, As I say JapVillage replace the rotor tips before selling the car apparently! Obviously I need to check this out, so they get a call tomorrow! But they have some bargain cars there! Anything from £8k (older high-ish mileage car) to £20k+ (Claimed 500+bhp!! )

Andy if you maybe had 12K, I know of a well sorted ITR.
Tein HA Coilovers
Spoon 4-2-1
Spoon Cams
Spoon Valve Train
Choice of Exhaust, BuddyClub/HKS or another
UK Car
Black
17000 miles
Aero Rear Wing
If you want me to mail the owner, let me know.
The price of the above mods is 3K +, so must be the perfformance bargin of the century.

Type R - To be honest I love the turbo kick!! And the lack of torque is the only thing that puts me off slightly with the Honda range! Can you get them to mail me details, location and pictures: andy.tang@scoobynet.co.uk
Carl, I've done the Subaru thing, and I like to think I did it quite well!! And it would have to be modified!! 354bhp from a UK MY99
The thing with a RWD car is that it will be like learning to drive all over again, which is a fun and scary prospect when you're use to FWD and 4WD!

Andy - try and get an MR2 TRD2000 GT - awesome looking beasts, and New Era have just sold one for £10,800 - amazing cars.
These are official Toyota sports versions done by TRD
240bhp, can be tuned to 300+
RX7's look cool though.
