Hi,
Quite like the look of the Coupe, but am unsure of all the engine options and the best one to go for. Don't really know much about these or the costs involved in running them.
Saw an S6 Avant (L plate) for 6K, AWD and 230bhp sounded quite good fun, although Parkers suggest that the A6 2.8 might be easier to live with (it said the S6 could be costly!!).
Anything to check for, websites to visit etc...
Cheers
Steven

The old S6 had the 5-pot engine from the S2, itself a develoment of the UR engine. Beautiful lump, but in the heavy 100/A6 body and with a heavy AWD system, 230bhp will not feel as quick as you think. The 2.8 is almost as quick, cheaper to buy, cheaper to insure etc. That being said the engine is easily tuned to 300bhp!
IMO - worth it for the noise alone...

Hiya Steven!
If i were you id go for the coupe, the two to go for would be the 2.3 quattro 20valve 5 cylinder 170bhp or the coupe S2, quatrro again and a turbo'd 2.3 20valve which puts out 230hp.
Both getting quite rare now and the S2 still bringing good money.
ive had the 170bhp 20v and it goes well considering the weight of the car.
ive got the brochures for both cars from new, sad or what! but if you want any info on the figures or spec ill dig em out!
