Haldex / 4Motion 4WD System - a question

Wouldn't risk it myself, the haldex system is dependant on all the wheels turning at approximately the same speed, so unless you are towing it with all four on the ground, I would use a trailer

And I found it! : http://www.haldex-traction.com/
"
Enhanced Vehicle Driving Comfort and Transparency
– No wind-up during tight cornering and parking
– Optimal traction during acceleration
– No functional problems with tyres having uneven
– wear, pressure or size (mini spare)
– No functional problems towing with one axle lifted
– Transparent actuation

It's a proper anorak's website as well, my main criticism is of the VW handbook which doesn't go into much detail at all about the Haldex derived 4Motion's limitations wrt being towed.
I think I'll still scam flatbeds for any recovery in future though, as it seems a lot safer than having it dragged behind a truck
