Audi Coupe Quattro Turbo

I had a 10V MB model for 18 months. Cost me an absolute packet to run, but IMO a far better car than my Scooby is.
Heard you would loose a bit of power on WR and MB engines with current unleaded petrol, not sure about the pro' and con's of Optimax and SU.
You can do 100mph on the motorway and still *talk* to each other. Nice if you can get leather and aircon too. (not sure if they had any other options).
I had a stainless straight through exhaust system on mine, with just the backbox. 2ft flames/flashes were common place. Sounded awesome too.
As somebody said above, if you don't get FSH then be VERY VERY careful. Mine required at least 4k of engine work when I sold it.

If your parting with a lot of cash, get Phil Payne to check it out first. He's probably forgotten more about Quattro's than I ever knew. He might just save u a lot of cash.
Repeated from above, 20V RR model with FSH, snap their hand off. Its also very cheap to take the RR model to 300+ bhp (RS2 spec)

When you say Coupe Quattro Turbo, I assume that you don't mean UR Quattro. The Coupe Quattro Turbo didn't have the box arches of the UR Quattro Turbo (10v or 20v) and looked just like the standard Coupe. Sure it had multispoke alloys and was rapid, but maybe not an icon like the UR.
If it's sound though, and cheap, it's still a pukka car to own, provided the FASH etc.

Plenty of people get the names wrong. Getting insurance used to be a laugh and a half. You go into broker and say you've got a Audi Quattro Turbo (think that was the correct name) and they would come up with a load on the list.... it took for ever to work out which name was attached to which car.
I know which one mine was, cos it had flared arches, was red , had a turbo under the bonnet and a very nice looking digital dash. Wots more, it even did >30mph at 80mph.
As said before, just be very careful what u buy.
Worcester(sp?) Audi had a brand new 20v sat in their showroom until about 5 years ago. Think they wanted 60k for it.

guys it's the one with the wide arches, so it must be the UR. and as regarding the service history, he was the first owner and because he has a daughter he doesn't want her to drive. The car has all the documents, books, and full service history.

Which model is it then? It affects how much its worth by a significant amount, unless of course he's *giving* it away, in which case its sounding more and more like a no brainer.
One owner from new.... FSH...... rare as rocking horse ****.

He is the first owner, he showed me the receipt with his name on it back in 1985. The car has done 89000 miles and he is a good friend to my father since 1980. And the guy is loaded. his other car is a Merc SL600

1985.... its a WR model then. The engine *package* is more mechanical than electronic, which is not a bad thing.
Its probably got a voice computer as well, although quite a large number of owners "pulled the fuse".
Its deffo worth a look, a very long look.

Prior to getting my Impreza back in 1998 I had a 2144cc WR Engined UR Quattro.
To this day I still miss it, the noise of the engine on full chat was something else ~ and it doesn't come close to an Impreza.
It was VERY laggy with a turbo the size of a dustbin, it drank oil like nothing else as the valve stem oil seals where a little worse for wear when I sold it. But given the chance I'd buy it back tomorrow.

The bottom 2 photos are of my old Pride and joy.
When I sold it via Autotrader I sold it for 200 more than I bought it for and the guy who bought it was the first person to ring (the phone never stopped). He knew the car aparently and when it turned up to take a look it at he'd already insured it to drive it away that day
Sad, sad day when I heard it finally burble off

I'd have another one anyday of the week !!!!
Must admit to wanting the RR version though, purely becasue you can take it to RS2 spec very easily.
You might open a bit of a can of worms saying one sounds better than a Scooby, although I would have to agree with you
RR's don't sound as good as the MB's or WR's, but never mind.
