I had one on order but got messed about by the dealer so cancelled it. Lovly car to drive and fantastic looking but with sales service as bad as I had I didnt want to experience after sales.............
Hope your dealer is better at customer service than the one I was gonna use.

Picked it up this morning and its pretty good... not sure about the driving position but its a lovely engine and it seems very composed at speed. Don't know why the reviews slated it so much

Probably because its an Alfa, the media love slating them although I think they have come on loads over the last 6-7 years!
Is it quick then this GTA?? - I mean, does it feel like it just wants to go fast?, even when cruising??
A guy that works for me here has a 1.8T spark 156 and I really like it, dont like some of the finish qaulity but its a great car!, love the interior.

Yes it does beg to be driven fast. With 250bhp and little transmission loss (only 2wd), it does have a bit of umph. 3.2l engine so nice and torquey and gorgeous engine note. Handling is great too. If it wouldn't depreciate it ridiculous amounts in the first 2 years I might even consider buying one!
Also crusies very nicely in 6th

Sorry for all the questions but.
How does the driving position differ from the 156 selespeed?
What do yo think of the seats?
If your Selespeed is Veloce spek ie. Sport Pack 1 etc. How does the ride quality on poor surfaces compare.
I'm thinking of having a test drive but I'll not get an all day drive. I swapped my Impreza for a 156 Selespeed Veloce due to the Scoob being too harsh for my wife. She likes the Alfa so may be able to push her towards a GTA.

My Selespeed has Sports Pack 3 with leather. I messed around with the driving position at lunchtime and found it to be acutally quite good. I now think that the seats are better than my Selespeeed. I'm 6'3" but I wouldn't recommend anyone taller considering one.
The chassis seems stiffer so although firmer, it is more comfortable. Perhaps my Selespeed is just knackered after 36k miles!! It's not harsh though - nothing like a Scoob.
Engine note is fantastic and they've changed the dash a little bit too - looks more modern.
I've no idea how it gets all the power down - but it does with no torque steer that I could notice.

Hi Lee
Fancy seeing you here as well...........
Still pissed about the GTA but going to the Motorshow to have a look at the MY03 STI, as I know the scooby dealer I use is good.

Jinxy,
Recognised you in the earlier post. Your email in your profile gives you away.
Got a friend in the motor trade so we are going to the Motorshow on the 23rd "Trade Day" .
I'll have to see what catches my eye, never had a car longer than 18 months and the 156 is now a year old so I could be tempted.
