Aren't RS4 wheels known to be too soft?

Old topic IIRC.

Yeah I read about this ages ago, anyone who was worried had them replaced FOC. Only under severe stress though apparently, like track days then!

if the wheel was then balanced with a tyre on and fitted on the rear would it be safe to use?

Yes this is old news. Audi will replace any FOC, but have now offered owners a brand new hardened wheel of similar design

Care3, I heard they were soft because the still standard S4 suspension arms buckled under the loads during pre-prod testing, and Audi decided it was cheaper to make new softer wheels than redesign the front arms So based on this, all the cars now running round with the new hardened wheels are likely to suffer some sort of suspension failure at some point in their lives

So what about the 18 inch wheels being fitted to S3s and TTs now - are they hardened over the original RS4 wheels?

P.S. I bet Audi drivers make jokes about gold Scooby wheels being dead naff
