Anybody know where I can get some pictures of the rear lights of a Skyline from ? Even better would some pictures of what parts light up when, i.e. Brake light active, reverse light active, indicator light active etc etc.
Cheers !

Your best bet might well be getting hold of a Playstation and a copy of GT2 - that'll happily show you the car from all angles. You can see the brake lights and, on night races, headlamps too.

Thanks for that post - I don't know what other people think, but my preference is for a Skyline copy, rather than the one beef has just put up. I don't like it, for some reason.

I agree. i think th ones above look too unfinished. The raised section around the lights looks rubbish. A straight Skyline copy should look sweet. I'm going to have a pop at a Photoshop of some real Skyline lights on the above scoob..

Edited to say i've actually got too much work to do. So here's a photo of a skyline rear so people can get the effect...

Paul.
Actual Skyline lights would be too big to go on an impreza ... the units would have to ba a scaled down copy.
I had a look at the original R34 lights with a view to somehow fabricating them into a standard (painted) cluster.. but they were just too big.

I'm aware of the diameter problem, although in fairness the Skyline rear cluster is significantly bigger than ours ! I think it was always going to be a problem getting the Nissan ones on "as is".
I'm looking into having a custom made "replica" of the Skyline lights made up, although size-wise they can't be as big as the Nissan's, I'm aiming to keep the visual impact. Thats the plan, anyway.
Just be aware, this kind of thing can take awhile, so bear with me !

It seems by looking at the pic of the R34 above the reverse and the fog lights are'nt in the round clusters at all. Might need to go for clear inners and red outers, inners being indicators (outside), fog and reverse (inside). Brake lights on all outers and side lights incorperated on all outers. Std reflectors on the outer (inside)?
Blimey I hope that makes sense

Skyline lights look the dogs.... those 3 light set up looks gank IMHO... the skyline lights are a very simple design, which would suit the GC8 perfectly.... keep us posted Boxer

This is just a thought, but why don't you try MX-5 Series 1 (pop-up headlights) tail lights? They are in the same style as an R-32 (the best of the three) but smaller in diameter.

Might well ask why anyone modifies anything on a car - surely owning a Subaru is more than powerful enough, yet plenty of people want to extend that power. Styling is very subjective, plus people get bored with looking like every other Subaru out there, and want something unique and distinctive.
