Don't ask, it's a wife thing. Where can she get the best deal on a new vectra? Any ideas?
(look she let me buy the scoob so I am not in a position to have a point of view on this one)

Cheers,

ken

Vauxhall dealers are able to offer £750 quid higher trade-ins at the moemtn due to a subsidy from Vauxhall itself. Best thing to do is visit as many as of the dealers you can and have them compete for the business. Be completely upfront about it, say what you are doing, but this is important, don't buy until you have spoken to each dealer twice. That way you give them chance to improve their first offers, helps them to sharpen their pencils when you have a better deal from someone else. And tell them you will speak to them again before buying, otherwise they will probably refuse to play ball. There is lots of other stuff to bear in mind, if you want to talk on the phone drop me a line with your number to my e-mail refropatton@hotmail.com

Hold on, a private buyer buying a Vectra!!!!!

The depreciation will be eye watering. Why don't you just set fire to a big pile of £50 notes instead?

Ken,

DON'T buy one from Oxleys or better still DON'T buy one at all!

Let your wife drive the scoob, she'll see the light.

Cool

While you're burning the notes, add the vectra to it at the same time

also - buy from the dealers at the end of the month.

usually they are trying to get their monthly sales figure
up to targets,
and will virtually give the last few away
as they get rebates on the full months sales if they
hit target, but nothing if they miss target

Talking

Thanks guys.
There is not a hope of using oxleys ! Just out of interest, they are about £350 more expensive than any mainland uk dealer price for an 'on the road' car and have already said they are not interested in discounting. Unbelievable.
As to burning money, well she seems determined to waste it. She had her credit card stolen last month but the thief spends less than she does so I haven't reported it !!
And as for driving the scooby, my good lady needs lessons in mechanical sympathy first - no offence to lady drivers here, just a statement of fact. And I'm not yet fit enough to teach !

Chris

Thumbs down

Motorpoint have the old shape Vetra on 02 plates (couple of months old) with a few miles from £8000.

Need to be very brave to pay £16k for a new one.
