Why would you want a pushrod V10 with a cast iron block in a lightweight car?
Only way to tune those things is a supercharger or nitrous. Then the mpg goes well into the low single figures.
Better off shoe horning in a Skyline 2.6 lump with the 4 wheel drive system Now that would be interesting

Interesting Out of interest, where would the drivers feet go?
As an aside, I thought the Viper Engine was ally blocked, it was developed from an iron blocked truck engine by the folks at Lamborghini, when Chrysler owned them.

On the subject of engine swaps... anyone know of anything being swapped into a Scooby.. (no photoshop jobs either)
I know the flat four is a lovely sounding motor etc..
and the low centre of gravity gives the scooby the handling from the flat four motor but just wondered!

maybe currently but thats because it struggles to go above 50mph..
get the flat 6 in there and you'll be driving like most other buses.... in the outside lane and pulling out on everyone.. only you'll be doing because you cannot stop at the junction.
Would be a bit neat though...

I remember being at Nurburgring in 1970 when VW were testing six microbuses (camper vans without the sinks ) with 2.7 litre flat six Porsche engines - never found out why, but they were quick!

A 3.3 SVX engine in one of them is actually quite a tame conversion
I've seen these buses, and the later 'bay window' ones with Ford Cologne V6 turbo motors, Rover V8s, and even one with a small block Chevy motor!
BTW a Chevy small block is actually 5.7L

I remember a car video site that had a black Datsun 240Z with a modern Yank V8 in it(not sure if it was a viper engine or what)but it was awesome. A few vidoes showed it idling and then a video of a traffic light drag with an R1. Bye bye R1.
Anybody else seen that and can remember the URL?
