Would this be accurate?
A friend says the following about a Honda S2000:-
The driving experience of an S2000....great engine, crap chassis, crap ride, middling at best handling.
TIA!

Series 1 or 2?
I believe they addressed a lot of the issues mentioned above in the second edition of the car and made it a much better all rounder
Damn nice if you ask me

I wish
Nope, just going on the media hype that has said there is a LOT of difference. It was sposed to be quite tail happy in it's first incarnation (sic) and didn't inspire confidence.
I would love to test the theory out though if anyone has one spare

The chassis good and ride is firm.
If your a crapy driver you won't like it. It's not a point and squirt car like the Impreza, but if you can drive well you will love it.
It has to driven well to get the most out it. Two very different beasts

Lo Dizz....no i cant let it go after saying i know nothing about it! Top Gear mag say about the S2 S2000 'one of our favourite cars just got better, we love it' that sounds pretty good from where i'm sitting! Evo say the 1st one was abit lairy, the second one is much improved (but i've not got a review from them).
Dont know about Autocar or Autoexpress....anyone know how the reviews went in those mags?

Autocar hate it, but always compare it to cars costing 10k more.
Boxter 2.7, TVR.
For the money its great, not as fast as a scooby from A-B, then again what is for that sort of money?

Can I just point out misuse of the phrase 'point and squirt' - the Impreza handles very well and can carry speed through corners. The S2000, while not being a traditional point and squirt car like a TVR or AC Cobra, is more point-and-squirty, because the term refers to Pointing the car in the direction you want to go, and only then pressing the throttle.
And I say this as a Honda owner, not an Impreza owner - no bias. Still wouldn't have an S2000 though - enjoy the drivetrain in a Civic Type R and get a nice-handling Elise for top down fun...

I went on a Ferrari driving day a few months ago, 355's Testarossa etc, near Loughborough.
The S2000, stuck with the 355's and TestaRossa down the straight and went passed the 328 like it was stationary (I know the 328 driver was going for it, he was a mate).
It was also quicker round the bends than the Ferrari's, as I timed myself in them all..

Ya the elise is good, but bits fall off it, costs a lot to service, a bitch to get into(says the wife) and the boot is to small.
The Elise is not up to the job for a daily driver for me, but the "S" is.
