Civic Type R- Help
#1
Looking for a 2nd car to partner the Scooby later on this year.
Want a Civic Type R but the price is a bit steep, anyone know any where they sell for less(eg:car supermarket)
Clio 172 a possibility because I can get 1 for around £12,000
Anyone suggest another possible car?
Cheers!

I changed my Scoob for a Civic Type R. I don't see the point in having Scoob *and* Civic myself, since they're both reasonably spacious, fun and fast. I'd suggest a Caterham 7 or Elise for £12k, but then I don't know what you need the second car for.

You’ll be lucky to find a ‘cheap’ one at the moment as they’re still relatively new. I bought mine 2 months ago from a dealer at full whack.
The car Supermarkets are still selling them near list price - Motorpoint or Trade-sales are your best bet.
Importers like Micronet Showroom and Matrix Autos are selling them for around £14,250 but don’t forget that and delivery dates are in the region of 16-20 weeks.
I’ve seen private ads for 01 plates at £14,500 in Autotrader but I’ve got a feeling that when the Focus RS and Cupra R come out, you’ll start to see better deals.
Thought about a Golf V5(170), brand new £15,499 (Trade-sales). Better than the V6 and without the ****ty wooden trim.

If you want a shopping trolley, get a diesel Skoda Fabia or something. If you get a Civic Type R, you're either going to prefer that to the Subaru, in which case the Scoob won't get used at all, or you'll prefer the Subaru, in which case the Civic's fuel consumption isn't enough of an improvement to make it worthwhile using instead.
Get an Elise - 40mpg and you can fit loads of shopping in!
