eh Oop Gang..
Anyone driven a Galant 2.5 V6 or A6 2.4 tiptronic? or the A6 2.8 tiptronic?
Am looking at either of these as my next car - the Scooby is unfortunately having to go. What's the fuel consumption like? Service intervals?
The only other option is either an older E Class Mercedes 280 or a Omega 2.5 V6 or the 3.0 Elite.
Any thoughts on the above? I would be looking at second hand in the £7k region.

i would say get an Omega. The handling is good, its rear wheel drive too, and for the money you mentioned you can get a younger lower mileage model than the rest you are considering. Fuel wise the 2.5 V6 will give mid to high 20's quite easily, plus more on a run. I know its a Vauxhall and all the others are far classier, but the Omega is a good car, that's too often overlooked.

If you're thinking A6, from the A4 I had I can recommnend the
2.5 V6 Tdi (available with Tiptronic and Quattro 4wd)
My A4 Quattro was cipped to 185bhp and still gave 35 mpg average
