Question

As you may or may not have seen I just bought a 2.8 injection capri The problem I have is that I have to get new clocks for it because some muppet has taken the original ones out with the correct 55,000 miles on to tally up with the history and replaced them with a set that says 5,000 and has a rev counter off a four cylinder capri (making the rev counter go mad on a V6) If I get these clocks later today are they easy to "clock" to the correct mileage?

Thanks in Advance

You cant clock a Ford Capri, what ith all the advanced security and bang up to the minute techno employed on these vehicles I am sure its impossible.

Er, take it out and turn it, I would keep the rev counter, must look well cool

I think at the back of the face where the little cog like wotsits are you can get a biro pen on that then hook it up to your drill an spend 20 minutes going FORWARD to the correct milage.

P.S. I didnt tell you this though

It looks really mad at the moment you rev it and its still pulling sweet but the rev counter reads 7,000 rpm then stops there The amazing thing is that I have traced it back through several owners to find out who did it and no-body realised and fixed it. Muppets!!!

It's ok I am not intending on clocking the car the car really is low mileage already

You found a 2.8 capri with History, that must be a first. The only history i had with my 2.8 capri was the different colour panels and the 20 owners before me.

Havent got the original clocks If I had it would have made things simple. Got new clocks last night and as luck would have it the mileage on them is about spot on All the history and the mileage adds up again

Cool

LW

If you read all the way through you would see that the clocks I got are nearly correct. Sadly the digits don't line up properly though think they have been clocked but not correctly. Can this be sorted?

ANYTHING can be sorted ! is only a price .... if they dont line up it means that one or the cogs behind isnt lined up ... invloves scalpel screwdriver and pin and a large HAMMER!!!

Wink

we knew the solution would have the word Hammer somewhere in it, with it being a Capri.
