Fast enough (albeit not in scooby league), German build quality, residuals, fun soft top and a lot of the 996 bits.

So why do you apparently need a perm to own one?

Excuse the facetiousness - I am trying to settle a debate with a mate at the moment.... (and I am pro boxster and post P1!)

I like the Boxsters alot ( especially in silver with red leather interior ). Now Audi TT's ( or titty's as Clarkson calls them ) defintley are a car for crimpers.

This got me thinking about hairdressers cars. The following cars spring to mind which always seem to be driven by a blonde bird or a male with one Y chromasome too many..

1. MGF
2. MX5
3. Peugeot 206 CC
4. Megane Coupe ( especially the Yellow ones )
5. Fiat Coupe
6. Smart Car
7. New Mini
8. Audi TiTty
9. Ford Puma
10. Vauxhall Tigra

Anyone think of anymore????

My mate Ivan has one and he's an airline pilot and has shagged more birds that you could shake a stick at, so he's not a hairdresser or gay.

Drives like an old woman though

Nah bong bong rangoon dude - the Elise is not hairdresser imo - just underpowered. It is a great little car - too impractical for all the sundries (blue rinse agent et el) to fit in the boot.....

Nah, most are IT wimps.

Exclamation

I have a mate who has one (not the S), he hates it, drives his Elise all the time now. His girlfriend drives the Porker
He prefers my STi to the Porker too.
I think its quite nice but he went from Caterham 7 to Elise to Porker... mind you he is getting on a bit now He talked about Volvos at one point but I think we've sorted him out now.

He is not a hairdrseer, doesn't have a perm and as far as I know lives happily with his girlfriend!

I would rather drive my girlfriends Cappuccino than his Porsche though.

boxster s is more rapid than you think - quicker than current uk sti/wrx for example - there is at least one hard-driven one around here ;-)
I was a disbeliever too but have recently been converted - early boxster was definitely lukewarm

Paul W

ps how many hairdressers can afford a £45k car? (please don't tell me I don't want to know!)

I still remember a back issue of EVO magazine where they had a line up including a boxster 2.7 and a P1. The boxster was actually faster than the P1 on the WET circuit!! Never did work that one out.

Hairdressers are loaded, my wife pays like seventy quid to have her hair combed and sprayed with the most noxious substance known to man, I have a theory about this stuff, it is applied for the benefit of blokes as advanced offlactory warning that your missus has been to the salon and you better notice, without the spray most blokes dont notice.

lol mark - we work a few doors away from terence paul in wilmslow - it is probably worth the 70 quid to have the 'young things' in there lean right over you whilst washing your hair ;-)

(I pay 16.50 at the hatchet job place round the corner before you ask)

'er indoors goes to same place as m/c footballers in hale - the crap conversation about boyfriends/videos/holidays from the dimwits cutting your hair - but even more expensive than here -

the thought of them driving a porker....

How about we start a new survey?

Are 80% of scooby drivers idiots who need to just shut up and appreciate other marques?

p.s. No I dont drive a boxster, and I am not Gay as you homophobes like to associate anyone who does not drive a scooby with.

I love the way on these forums any other car thats not a scooby and is seen as decent = rubbish.

Elise underpowered? Compareed to a scooby yes, thats cos it doesnt need brute force to push its brick like status through the air, its a feat of quality engineering, just cos it doesnt need a fancy brutish engine to do so. Its a drivers car, you have to be a good dirver to get the most out of it.

I just think all the guys who go on about this are just insecure about their sexuality.

I quite fancy the new 190 elise - I'm not sure if they are officially producing it though (is it an aftermarket job?)

I would imagine it's a bit bonkers

I drive one, absolutely love it to death, best car I've ever owned by a long way. Ok its not that fast but every single other aspect about it is perfect for me, just a great car to drive, never lets me down and is in my opinion stunning looking yet practical... (I have got 19's, sports exhaust, manifolds and air filters, few Techart bits so looks/sounds/goes alot better) Its superb on tracks as well and I've never had any trouble with Elises or standard 200bhp ish Scoobs come to that! and the only hairdressing I have ever done is when I attempted to cut my own hair whilst at University.... bad bad mistake

Aren't they bringing out the scooby PB5 (pillow biter) for the more feminine customer? I hear it has special scissor holders inside the cabin.....
