and just bought this







and the elder (younger) brother just picked this up - he did a have a very nice Scooby a few years ago














and the beemer was only just over 5K!!!!!!

M3's are pretty nice to be fair, really liked mine plus the smg box

But he has been riding a 125 around London for the last two / three years

His elder brother (but younger than me) has been into bikes for about 10 years and actually had the same bike back in the day, now has a R1, Honda Blackbird and a achingly beautiful Ducati 998

So he has been around them for a while and is quite sensible

It looked stunning and drove quite well although I suspect the lowered suspension ruins the ride -

Seemed a bit crashy

Had SMG which was pretty good tbf

I initially thought what a bargain - but thinking about it may not so much

Although I still think not a bad buy

 

 

They are rotters but nice with it.

 

check to see what service history its got, 1000 mile service is a must. also check the rear subframe has been given the ok or already been fixed. If not 2k bill waiting to happen.

If a big service is due then its gonna be another 1.5-2k, one of the things that pushed me to get rid, bills on em can be huge.

I passed my test in the morning, I was riding around on my GSXR in the afternoon.

 

i think the training theses days is pretty good tbh

in my day you could go from an Yamah LC250 (on L plates) in the morning to a Honda CBX 550 in the afternoon

just taking one test where the guy walked around the street - and you rode unacompanied

scary stuff when you thijnk about it - so the new rules (over tha last 20 odd years are probably a good thing)

 

I had been riding for years on and off (on private land of course!)

But, when I nailed it first time in second I did wonder what the Hell I'd done.

 

when my two brothers drove up at the weekend the one in the M3 was actually following the brother on the CBR up the A1

The M3 brother who has been riding for quite a while ( R1, Ducati Blackbird) said he had never seen someone riding a bike so slowly lol

 

my old one, had all the toys thrown at it including the rear pop up sun visor lol

 

ah I meant to say, yes it has had this work done

obviously it had loads of receipts etc

what my brother quite liked was the fact the the tyres were top of the range

the fronts being new Michelin Pilot Sports, so suggest money was not spared

but I do remember reading a thread on M3cutters (linked to from SN) regarding someone who had bought a known enthusiast M3 a regular M3cutter poster - loads of receipts blah blah

and it still cost the guy who bought it a fortune in the two years of ownership!!! eeks

I fancy one to replace my shogun with, just need to decide if I can live with a Land cruiser only and get rid of the car as well.

 

They are very big cars, to the point where it seems a little ridiculous to drive them alone

So I try and not drive it unless we need to take the family/kids - which is still quite often but as they get older less so

My wife has now got use of our eldests little Peugeot (she is in SE Asia) so she rarely drives (although she does love driving it)

MPG is around 20, so not too bad for the size - mine is just before the emission tax so still quite cheap to tax
