I had a 185bhp chipped A4 TDi V6 Quattro which I liked but circumstances meant I could afford 99MY Scooby fuel consumption !

0-60 in 7.5 (285lb/ft torque), 140mph top whack, 35mpg overall - 28 at trackday to 43 steady 75/80.

6 speed box, climate etc
More grip than the Subaru

A different kind of car though - fantastic on long distances, puts power down brilliantly, quiet, understeers. Came out in 98.

While they are nice, IMHO I don't really think their steering (is there really a connection with the front tyres?) or brake feel (about as much feedback as standing on a brick) is great. There can be a lot of roll and dive/squat, too.

Nice for long drives on undemanding roads, but personally I would like ALOT more feedback when the road conditions are poor (ie wet or icy), and in the twisties. That could/will be interpreted by some as "good isolation" though - and that's fine if that's what you're after. There's always the B4 to compare it with too...

All IMHO with the usual caveats of course
