Yup it is ashame, they are reducing the Peugeot range quite drastically, it does not mean that they wont do a sports coupe but there is no line up for a replacement RCZ.
Also considering its a niche model, the RCZ R has sold far better than the latest Subaru STI

Unless you've parked the rest of their cars behind the 205Gti and can't see them anymore. And the 205 is just nostalgia today.

So, Peugeot are going to focus on making even more mundane cars that Kia and Hyundai already do far better, great business plan. Maybe they are trying give the more whacky designs to Citroen (Catus etc.).
RCZ was a step in the right direction, even if it wasn't my cup of tea.
That Top Gear p*ss take of Peugeot drivers summed up quite well the average people who buy and drive them; Sat Nav stuck on the screen right above the steering wheel, bouncing up curbs and smoking clutches. And then wondering why their DV6 engine needs a new turbo and top-end rebuild because they only changed the oil once every two years

Peugeot Marketing Man; "I fear that with the RCZ, we made a good looking, fairly interesting car. Our loyal fans will desert us for Hyundai or Toyota."
Peugeot Boss; "Stop production immediately."

The PSA group is trying to change the way its perceived, basically they want Citroen to produce a good cheaper car (call it PSA's Skoda if you want) brand that has a following, then DS seperates from Citroen and they produce the sportier models, Peugeot are then aiming to go upmarket more and try to compete with VW/Audi, not sure it will work but they have a lot of chinese backing behind them (and a foothold in the chinese market which may prove to be quite a good move).
A couple of the concept cars have made it into metal, the 308 R Hybrid looks good but I doubt it will ever see production, and then you have this.... http://www.worldcarfans.com/11504299...easer-released
Again no doubt it wont see the light of day as a production car but its not looking all doom and gloom from the PSA group, but they need to build a new engine and stop relying on the Prince 1.6ltr engine, economical as it is, they use to build decent engines and should concentrate on getting a good 2/2.5/3 ltr out there if they want to push into a more up market area but still give excellent economy at the same time.

Its in a Ford (or Volvo/Mazda etc)?
Pugs and Citroens with the ATED and BTED variants of the DV6 in some models appear to have the intervals initially set at 2years/20K like the petrol variants. It should be 12.5K/2years...problem is the dash service indicator can have a 20K countdown unless corrected. Its made even more confusing that the OATS database still shows it as 20K/2 years or 15K/1 year (for adverse conditions) for many models, where the latter 15k/1yr was dreamt from up I don't know.
Mileage aside, the 2year schedule mandated PSA B71 2290 rated oil. A synthetic low-ash long-life oil. The problem is even if that is used (which it often isn't as its not as widely stocked and more expensive), its not up to the job of being used for short-trip urban driving over two years. So fast forward 8 years where the wear and carbon related problems start to manifest, the engine sounds like a tin of marbles at fast idle, often being beyond economical repair by the time the owner notices and complains about it (unless using second hand parts). Typically it appears around 70K to 90K mile mark. Incidentally the DW10B/CTED (16valve) suffers the same eventual demise, but at higher mileages.
Ford on the otherhand spec a cheaper oil to their own spec (WSS-M2C -whatever) but with their usual 12month/12.5K interval for the very same engine. That interestingly seems to work fine if its kept to that schedule and used with that oil. What is weird is their oil specification isn't stated as being low ash (its A1 rated as opposed to C2), but it is used with DPF equipped engines with seemingly no issues (unless overfilled/fuel diluted/neglected etc).
I don't see many problems on these engines when maintained on a 12month/12.5K schedule with the correct oil throughout its entire life.
The newer/revised DV6CTED is a different animal with a totally different cylinder head. I've not experienced any major issues with these yet.
