freelander, X5, Grand Vitara...
Anybody owned any of these or a similar "4x4"?
Im just trying to get an idea of whats good & whats not. I have no real interest, its the wifes request.

X5 is pretty unreliable, freelander 2 is surprisingly reliable but feels a bit cheap inside compared to x5, never had a vitara. I would get a landcruiser lc5 great reliability apart from ****ty leaky aircon pipes, great residual value, much better than your choices. Imo

i had a x5 for a bit, luckily i changed jobs and got a company car, i broke the head light and it cost me a fortune! i was only 26 and was panicking about the rest of the car then!!
Freelander 2 my mu, has and loves it, It barely sees any off road apart from a bit of a gravel track. But its a very nice place to be! its a petrol model but the mpg isnt bad
Depends on your budget but the lexus is a very nice car,
