as I said personal pref,
I know of the Rating's, but its irrelevant to me cos it wasn't the car I wanted, I do look at reviews but only as a guide, driving it made my choice and I wanted 4wd, as well as other things it ticked. Tiff review and others were just stupid track runs, not real world stuff, Chris Harris on the other hand does a proper job.
And autroexpress loved it against the M135 it showed all the weaknesses, then came the 235 which get slated everywhere but autoexpress loved it beter this time lol.
Youd be amazed how many on this forum are looking at A45s to fill that next step up from a Scooby.
Ive had a fair few PMs for advice, and I bet more are sat waiting to buy something or other.
yeah it is a lot of brass for a hatch, but hey ho that's how much it is. 368 in the UK and rising, and I bet that's not without trying there in constraint

Have you been gay for long? Oh yes, you think Imprezas are stunning lookers and have modern interiors don't you...
The M135i may not be pretty but it's subtly sporty without Impreza chavness and has a purposeful RWD stance.
Apart from the 22B, RB320 and maybe WR1, Imprezas are quite visually painful.

A client has an E63; in silver it's SO subtle; I love it! Mind you he was really enthusing about our little car. In fact his fellow directors (all obscenely minted) were talking about it all night at an evening meeting. Which was nice.
3.3 seconds is VERY quick; the Turbo S in 997 form was 2.9(!) but the new one (3.1) is quicker to 100.
Acceleration figures of modern performance cars is mind boggling. I thumb the new 650s is about 6s to 100 and the P1 is 5s; yikes!!!

The biggest possible engine plus forced induction, AWD and auto is still my preference. Present electronic chassis, diffs and tyres on road cars seem good for about 200 BHP for each rear tyre, 150 BHP for each front. In the dry that can be quite stable, in the wet quite hard work.

And a proper manual 'box.
I could live without the turbo and make do with a supercharger though
It'd look better as a 3door too.
Kind of regret I passed off on the 3door M135i I saw up for £29K..fully loaded (adapative suspension, top spec Harmon Kardon etc)....although the only regret is because the money has been spent on a house extension and poncy kitchen instead, which to be frank depresses the hell out of me.

I thought it was coming over?

Not coming over here I'm afraid. It's available in LHD only.
If they brought it over here it would be my next car (12-18 months old though to limit the depreciation a little)

RS6/RS7/S8 similar acceleration, but the E63 AWD does sound the slightly better car.

The 4wd E63 does just beat the RS cars for balance, steering and engine character though.
My mistake btw, I think the 4wd E63 AMG is 0-60 in 3.5 seconds not the 3.2 secs I mentioned earlier.

I'd take AMG Merc over almost any Audi. I'd have a V10 R8 though
Ali; you wonder why we still rent?!
Shout if you consider one again; IMO top spec isn't always best; I tried Adaptive; sport is too firm, Comfort is too soft. Standard set up is just right IMO plus you don't get the knocking sound many with adaptive have.
And the stereo; after seeing a fair few disappointed with HK, I had a listen and wasn't impressed. It's loud but Advanced is definitely better at lower volumes. It's lighter too...
Pro nav is good but silly money. Business nav is excellent IMO; it MUST have the black panel display though.

So I can handle "girly" especially if it's F1s Merc (not girly IMO) or even more ideal as a girly car, an SLK55

You can get a A45 AMG for 35k with a few thousand miles, there's already a secondhand market for them.
As for Mercedes/AMG I always thought that out of all the German cars they were the worst for handling, every review ive seen they have been tyre shredding brake cookers. Not to say there bad, just not quite as good as the others.
Plus for the record I don't think any of the cars discussed look girly but I do cross my fingers for a hot chick when I see a SL AMG.
