Default my first problem any ideas

hi new to forum can anyone help with small prob i came across this morn started car no probs took her of drive and the speedo shot up to 50 mph and stayed there even when id come to a stop took the wife to work 10 miles stayed at 50mph when i dropped her of switched everytihng off restarted car drove of and speedo was fine is this an issue others have come across btw this is my first forester ive owned two other legacys and never had a single prob with either of them

not had that one but i have had the old "sticky fuel guage", where you fill up but it shows half full, always corrects itself though when emptying. is this the first time you have had this? how long have you owned the car? where are you based roughly? i am sure it would just be a faulty sensor, but understand you obviously need to know how quick you are going. lol. cannot see it costing much to right though. regards. cheers lee ive owned the forester turbo now for about two months its the first time its happened and i will see if it happens again in the morning if it does then all i got to do is get the wife to drive it for the first 10 miles of every morning like ya say its prob a speed sensor not to expensive
