Well its time for the first NBO7 Infomation thread !!!as its only 3 weeks to go !!!!!

TIMINGS

This year as we have loads to do we are opening the NBO7 at 1030am ##

TRADERS ONLY will be able to get onto the field at 830 to give them time to set up their trade stands ready for the opening at 1030am ###

CLUB STANDS ONLY will be able to get onto the <hallowed ground > from 9AM
this will give them ample time to set up the stands and get ready for the opening at 1030 am
those cars that will be parking ONLY on the club stands can come and help set up their displays.parking will be available opposite for those who are building displays etc

Please can you tell the marshalls which club you are with as you enter the field so the marshalls will direct you to the correct part of the field !!!

NO OTHER CARS will be allowed onto the field due to H&S reasons for there will be lots of er...erections (setting up tents) and parking of cars on the various displays dont DONT BOTHER turning up early as the Captain will not let you in as we have lots to do !!

By 10am all the traders will be ready, the club stands will be perfect and eaglely waiting the many other subarus that will arrive

As we all know subarus are never late so hopefully the field will be full by 1107 AM

What I would like to see again is all Subarus from the clubs who are NOT on the stands and ALL the Indepentant drivers to assemble at 2 meeting points


NORTH ##

Scotch corner services
Where Darren and Mrs Darren (TTS) will be greeting you all and assembling you all into the Northen convoy

meeting at Scotch corner services for 9 am -930 am for departure at 948 am

Darren and Mrs Darren will be dressed up for the occasion after the fantastic organisation they did for the last 2 last years and will lead the convoy down to LV
last year we had nearly 100 cars at Scotch corner and part of the fun of the NBO experience s the convoy down to LV .

Once again Ethenrob <the legend> has been apointed convoy leader for the 4th year ###
All cars are to assemble at the Meeting point of ferrybridge service station off the A1/M62 junction

Meet time of 900-930: am for departure of around 948 am for the final leg of your journey to the NBO
The southern convoy will again be competing for the largest convoy to the NBO

So why do we want you to meet at these points ???

As mentioned part of the NBO experience is the convoys where you get to see loads of other subarus on the road and you will meet up with old and new friends alike ,If you not part of a club get out of your car and talk to other owners and remember

Subarus are for life not just xmas .

Also it helps out 15 marshalls led by Gussy <the ringmaster> who with his military precision has to to park up nearly 400 subarus all lined up to perfection and facing the same direction
You will be directed to the position to park by the marshalls DO NOT ARGUE WITH THE MARSHALLS /dont ask 'where the toiletsfriends are//food/raffle tickets/big dipper/.Please go straight to the slot you have been allocated to ,Remember there might be 300++ Subarus behind you pumping out Exhaust gasses and raising the Subaru carbon footprint !!

This is a hugh operation which takes months of planning with the goal of Everyone in the field between 1030am -1100 am

With a Even Bigger Arena this year space will be tight and we have to park you all quickly so the show can get underway for 1030 -11am

NOONE MUST BE LATE ##(as the marshalls who have been up since 5am thanks to the wake up call of Gussys Anti Lag on his Spec C )Like also to look around the show as well


PLEASE MAKE SURE WHEN YOU HAVE READ THIS INFO THAT YOU ARE ON THE LIST ON SCOOBYNET AS NUMBERS ARE SO CRITICAL FOR PLANNING AND INSURANCE THE LIST CLOSES ON JUNE 19th strictly ######
If you not on the list you might not get in!!!

If you are wondering why the list closes early it is because the event has to be insured for correct numbers and if we estimate 500 and we get <only >400 we have pay extra premiums !!!

Lightwater Valley gives us the field at a Discounted rate as it is a charity event so all money donated at the gate goes straght into the charity fund thanks to them for this fantastic gesture again for the 6th year

Chris <scooby> Towers (LADS)will be announcing the chosen charity this week and I know it is a great one to support for the NBO7 committee this year .

At the NBO HQ which is the tent in the middle of the field with the PA system you will be able to purchase your Rafle tickets this year as always there is some fantastic prizes given by our suppliers and various sponsers and contacts again all proceeds go to charity

Well as it was so popular last year with the new arena and with over 130 scoobies taking part this year we are repeating the

NBO 7 show and shine car of the day comp

this year we will have an even BIGGER arena to give more space for the cars and the crowds that watch this .
As the NBO concept grows every year we feel this is the future for the final 3 years of the NBO concept (Dont worry we are planning years 10-20 !!

we try to keep it simple so the classes are

1pm

1 Standard class

All std cars can enter this of all ages !! no more then 3 mods eg exhaust ,wheels ,spoiler
we are looking for perfection concourse will get the judges excited and you could win the gold !!!#clean ,shiney , examples of polishing materials ,mirrors under the cars ,documents etc all these will help the judges decide

Robbieben who fetches a wealth of experience ,A detailing perfectionist chief judge and a true subaru fanatic

Del Boy Winner of many awards with his famous orange scooby and this year has decided not to compete in the arena ,some say his trophey cabinet has taken over the west wing of the house ,but to give others a chance !! his car just won best of britain and we are looking forward to his imput in the judgeing


Stephen Woody Del boys right hand man in helping him with designs ,a vast experience of modding cars and perfection we look forward to seeing Woody in the Arena


Mick C The legend !!! many of you know mick C from previos years with his WR1 and overall winner last year ,Mick is a true perfectionist at the highest level ,hs shelves are bowing under the weight of his tropheys he has won over the years and like Del boy has decided his future is on the stage judgeing ,these 3 guys know thier stuff on modifications and are looking forward to judgeing the classes


Weasel 555 Andy all the way from USA We met the guy a couple of months ago at a few meetings and his experience is vast chief moderator for the USA version of scoobynet this guy is a BIG as they come from over the pond he owns 4 sets of wheels for each subaru he owns and is a purist at the highest level ,Andy is going to be a great asset in the team of judges


and of course we have an administration 'director 'who will stop the judges from dissagreeing and help with the admin to give to the DJ for anouncements .

Martin, Gussy mark ,Mrs Drumpsterphil and myself might even wander in !!


######As always the judges decisons are final and with such excellent qualifications of them all ,I dont think anyone could dare disagree with them ##########

the times will be announced and also on your programme and you must drive onto the arena at the given times

It is recomended that those on Club stands plan to make it easy for you to drive to the Arena !!!
as we all know subarus are never late .

we identified a couple of problems a couple of years ago as the cars were such headturners that the judges couldn't get near some cars due to the crowds so again this year we have a drivers <pen./sin bin>

when you park your car up you MUST GO INTO THE PEN/SIN BIN for a few minutes to the judges have made a decision then you will be able to go back to your cars and anyone who is watching can go into the arena for a couple of minutes to ogle over these fine specimans of motors .

anyone hanging around their cars will be desqualified unless the judges want to ask a spercific question when judgeing .

classes are straightforward

classic /newage standard

basically always the lowest turnout for these classes and the rules are simple

3 modifications are OK we accept most subaru owners from new changed the wheels ,possibly the spolier and of course ditched the twinshooter (if anyone can remmber one) for a proper exhaust
any more mods the judges might not favour it and recomend a mofidied class.

This year as some subarus are aproaching up to 16 years old we are slowly getting to the level of RS fords in restoring and maintaning to a high standard

Robbieben and the Judges are very much into Detailing and I think this is the way forward in the flollowing years

My ultimate <vision> which Ive looked forward to for the last 7 years is to the level of Mirrors under cars ,clean arches ,new tyres with stickers on,shiney engine bays and lots of polishes and waxes that Im really keen to develop with Robie and the judges over the next few years of the NBO concept infact I will be really excited by this !!!!

best car install continues to fill the Arena lots of Interst in this class with it and again really pulled in the crowds
A new class this year non scoobys will creat debate and Interst !!

So the winner and runner up is picked in every class

they go into the final competion for the car of the day and you will see the finest subarus in the uk in one section


and the NBO committe really looks forward to this one !!

with 80-120 cars competing in the arena we are asking for a small donation £1 for the classes as with the money doubled thanks to Chris deal with BAE we have a great chance of beating the record years record of £6448 """

Well as most clubs have allready had dress rehersals here is some guidelines for your elected NBO stand managers to print off and digest in your quest for the Gold !!

we have left it untill now to make you work harder as the Gold is Bigger !!


NBO7 Car club competion ####

This has developed in the last few years to a fantastic level and the Gold Cup is awarded to the best Club Display in the Land .there will also be runners up prizes too.

this year the clubs taking part are

1 Cumbrian Scoobs (CS) 19 cars SUPER PLOT (for clares suitcase)
Who can remember the CS babes and the colour,glamour and dresses !!
3 rd last year , nine years of experience as a club , Clare famous for her extensive wardrobe and enthuasim for CS has been planing their display for months .



2 Tyne Tees scoobies (TTS) 10 cars (for a reason) Std plot

NBO6 winners last year with blue fountain yellow and blue flowers the full package !
ths year Bug eye tony is trying to reclaim the gold and follow on from another legend Speye who set new standards for perfection in previous years





3 Dumfries and Galloway (D&G) 12 cars std plot

D&G first unvailing to the country last year they even built a Roman wall between England and scotland following the theme and even a handcrafted BBQ true scotsmen ,proud of what they do everthing subaru led by Matt and Si who were trained (or some said their minds were corrupted ) by CS just down the road They are a rapidly expanding club.


4 DSC 20 cars +special display SUPER PLOT #################

Well last year the DSC also came out into the uk for the first time excelent theme and overall management tipped for BIG things in the future this club at NBOs ,another woman spokesman who was a teacher ,her passion and commiment realy drove the club towards the bIG league


5 LADS - 25 Cars )SUPERPLOT reqd for trophey cabinet and other er ..buildings

The LADS allways win tropheys ,Ultimate perfectionists in everything they do the LADs have led the way in the last few years and have been an Inspiration to us all it their total package ,true ambassadors for the marque things like the history of subaru ,scaletrix ,dispalys engine bays ,even yellow and blue drinks these guys take the judges to the limit and have helped us drive towards perfection .Elvis is alive and kicking and drives,talks and lives Scoobys .


6 NYSOC - 14 cars Std plot

A new club to apear last year led by Clare and Mick C <the legend> A true family orinated club they followed the guidelines and were in the top five showing lots of new ideas and planning and raised new standards as a club and family .


7 SMACS - 18 cars std plot

The SMACS have also won many tropheys over the years and set the standard way back in 2003 Stressymare has got the troops fired up for yet another NBO, who can remember the colour co-ordinated convoys and Kids corners from years ago

8 CADS 19 cars STD plot

Anoher long term experinced group They were the first club with banners 7 years ago a small group of purists who love everything Subaru great display by this small group always great to see them .

9 SERIES McCRAY CLUB 8 cars std plot

Last year was a first for this very small specialist group this year they have doubled their cars on show ,great display last year with trophey cabinet full of all things McCrae ,led by a true purist at the highest level A small club with BIG pasion .



10 Zero260 Club - 28 cars SUPER PLOT

Well this is an unknown group to us led by Gav who prebooked a stand last December his secret forum is a very close tight knit group of purists with a couple Non subarus as well
Could be a dark horse and surprize us all !!


11 YSPCD - approx 10 cars std plot

another first this year a new splinter group from Yorkshire ,looking at the members list many experienced NBOers who could be anther dark horse to watch !!

12 WYIOC 8 cars std plot

This group have shown at every NBO since we started led by the excellent lady who gave one of the best presentations of the show last year ,passionate about the club they had the ultimate caravan and cathering facilites (Yorkshire tea bags ) and also take home many tropheys over the years ,also a pleasure to visit this group

13 EVOs (Kostas Invasion) 47 cars SUPER PLOT ## EVO PEN ##

Well this is the one that will cause debate ,controvesy ,jealousy and every thing else 7 EVOS apeared at NBO1 they have regrouped and expanded and are fetching a massive 48 EVOS led by Kosta who is the chief organiser this guy plagued my life out untill finally at a NBO committee meeting we agreed to let them show ,Its took them 6 years of planning and no doubt Increased carbon footprints and mass destruction but this is one group the NBO committee are excited to see .............We wellcome the EVOs back to the NBO7

There is NO COST for having a club stand although EVERY car entering the NBO field pays the £7 min donation to the charity buckets -No Exceptions

So the size of your STD stands are 70 foot wide 40 foot deep and the height of low flying aircraft !! this has been measured out to give a ample space for up to 18 cars and a tent


The Five SUPER plots CS, LADS ,DSC ,and Zero260 have a 70 by 70 plot

enough for 25 cars aprox and the EVOS will have the EVO pen


the other smaller groups will have 60 or 50 foot wide depending on cars booked

The spaces will be allready marked out for you when you arrive thanks to Gussy <the ringmaster> and the Captain and Denise and the rest of the marshalls from CS ,thanks in advance to them for going on the Saturday to help mark out the field with me.


The sizes have been perfected from last year and std plots will fit 18 cars in BUT

the judges felt less is best and you have to ask yourself the question !!
Do you want your club stand to be cluttered?
Too many cars the same ?
letting every car on just to please the members ?#
your Club tent squashed in the corner?
Or do you want it to be a little bit different ?

looking at previous years judgeing sheets the highest scores were with the club stands that had fewer cars on ,postioned wisely and leaving more space for other attractions as a perfect example of the LADS from 2 years ago who left more then enough space for their History section and scaletrix ""
the winner had the most of everything in the sections

Gussy (CS chairman )
Gussy was in at the NBO right from the start his planning of the field and logistics is fantastic and has helped get the NBO to where it is today "

Mark (classic wr1 show car )
an experienced custom car man ,winner of many awards on the cruise theme owns one of the most photographed Subarus in the UK and has taken a great interest in show design for us in the future .

Mrs Drumpsterphil (RB5OC)

Caroline is without a doubt the ultimate'' Subaru lady'' her knowledge and pasion beats many men and her desire to get the job done. Im really excited that Caroline famous for her award winning RB5 has decided to help us judge with more and more ladys and family getting involved in the subaru scene a womans view is so Important to us ,her first judgeing and will help us develop more <visions> for the future .


The five judge will score up to 400 points per display giving a total of 2000 points We worked this concept last year and the results were amazing with less then 300 points seperating the top 5 !!!We all have different ideas but will be following the following Criteria
