Question Ric Wood's in Stockport.

Ric Wood on Oakfield Road in Davenport, Stockport.

Has anybody got an opinion or had any work done on their car there?

Just curious of the quality of work they do when it comes to re-mapping.

I noticed a car sat on some rollers so I went in to see if they do remaps.......................I told him I had an Impreza and am getting an Apexi Power FC.

He said it would be £125 for remapping

Well i know i few people who use him, but I'd say not to bother as when i had a Golf GTI Turbo i phoned him and asked for a price to fit a bigger dump valve he said you couldn't do it, i asked why he said you just couldn't no answer i found that strange, a mate of mine takes his VR6 there and he never has any problem.
I'm sure you could take your car to someone who knows more about imprezas say Prosport, Scoobyclinic, Powerstation rather than just a normal garage.

A couple of my mates have actually worked for him, knows his stuff with V6 ford engines and big V8's - commodores that sort of thing, if you have a Subaru i'd stick with Prosport

£125 for a remap is major alarm bell time

Cant believe a mod has not deleted that post!!! very slandorous!

Did Rik build the engine for the cossie? if not he cannot be hald to blame if it popped on the rollers!!

Yes I would recommend Prosport above anyone else, but not everybody can afford the prices.

I have never had any bad word re Riks work his V6 ford and american V8 work is legendary. and as for his Holdens they are simply unbelievable. Rik has been going for at least 20years to my knowledge. Also he has a new rolling road installed so I have been told.

Got a quote for for some work on my G60 golf years ago.
Didn't go ahead in the end because I wasn't quite sure,
as it was an import supercharged so I took it to a specialist in the end.

Used him for odd bits of jobs now and again though years ago

I live in Manchester but work in Stockport, so I called in on the way past there.

I came to one of your meets about a year or so ago, maybe longer TBH?

I have a MY93 WRX with a couple of mods.

A few mods arriving in the post
and will be getting the suspension sorted completely when funds permit .

Thanks for input guys,
