Default SMACS - Wales run - Sunday Feb 12

Hi guys,

Had a word with Carl555dbm and we have agreed on Sunday 12th Feb for our first Wales run of the year. It will be Mid/South Wales for a change.

This will be strictly SMACS regulars only on this occaision as it is only a one dayer and getting lots of cars around quickly over such distances is a big problem.

So if you want to come along then you will need to come to a couple of meets or local runs out.

Route to be decided but expect an 8am start and a tea-time return.

Get you names down and I will update you when I know what is happening.

Default Count me in

Supertouring,

Date in diary and looking forward to it. Have video camera mount now for much steadier footage - have you seen the disks I sent you yet? Pass those disks on maybe once you've copied the files? I will bring digicam again for some picturesque group shots.

Whilst I can think of other 'group shots i'd rather be taking photos of there is nowhere i'd rather be that Sunday.

5th is no-go for me and 19th is no-go for Carl. This is the only Sunday possible in Feb. Sorry CW.

Looks like we will be able to stop every 2 miles for as long as we want on this run then

It that blitz running across the road in the first shot? Do you still have the "dancing blitzy" photo? A classic that one.

AHHHH, I was young and handsome in those days! Or is it just that CW stood so far away to take the shot?

That looks similar to the photo with the amusing blitz foot movement, looked like he was doing the funky chicken or something as he ran across the road i seem to recall! What a mover!

Put me down for this as already mentioned elsewhere (if I still count as a SMACS regular anymore that is )

DAMN AND BLAST IT! Well peeved off now Cant even pursuade the missus to get back early on the sunday for this
Oh well, guess I'll just have to read the reports on here when you've finished your "recce". At least I'll be new to the route when we do it for real the following month
I'll have a look for 2 toes tony, doing his thing, when I get up tomorrow, on a night turn tonight, overtime, to pay for you know what
Have a good run you guys, I'll see you before on the official smacs meet in feb anyway, and it looks like the chief is sorting out a run up around his way.

(hardly killer, although much closer than most people give it credit for.)

will be doing, had it 2 years now, and would have kept it for another year if the car im going to get wasnt a great deal and one i 'shouldnt' lose a penny on over 12 months.

Overall plan is keep new car for 12 months then sell it for the new S3 if its been released by then, if not get something else for another 12 months. Then see whats around at the time

Im going to get the new Focus ST. not in Orange!! Test drove one the other day and its a nice car for the price, well specced in ST3 form, nice engine (feels more like a V6 than turbo due to no lag and max torque at 1600rpm).

Needs a remap though, doesnt feel quick at all, although think this is mostly because you dont get a big turbo kick in the back.

The Ford ASBO!

Liked the look of that on Top Gear. The Mrs wants one!

Her old Focus 1.8 used to handle a dream, until i understeered into a kerb in the snow and bent a track rod!
