I've just had an EMail from Stef Reader confirming that the Track action starts from 9am.
I don't know what time you guys will be travelling, if you wanted to go down for the start I'd suggest maybe meeting up at Durham Services 08:00 - 08:15. That'd give a good 40 mins for the trip down allowing for traffic.
Anyone have any other preferences ?
Neil
Good to see you're allowed out Skip..

Essential info for Croft
Hi folks,
For those of you travelling to Croft on Friday you may find the following info. useful.
Where to get SUL ?
SUL is difficult to get . The only two petrol stations that I know off and that are close to Croft circuit are Shell stations on Woodland's Road and North Road in Darlington. The Woodland's Road station is closer; about 5 miles from the circuit.
Where to get food ?
The closest pub to the circuit is the Chequer's in Dalton, about 1/2 a mile from the circuit . I can't personally vouch for the standards but I haven't heard any bad reports so I'm sure it will be fine. Also the pub at the far end of Hurworth is very good , I think it's called the Otter and Fish or the Fox and Hounds. Also the chippie near the pub is pretty good too.
Any other questions , drop me a line and I'll try to help.

P.S. any chance of blagging a ride round the circuit. I'm keen to do a track day but want to learn the 'etiquette' first.

With regard to SUL. Anyone travelling up from the south on the A1 or accross the top on the A66 can fill up with super at Scotch Corner services.
You can then either go cross country from the services or travel north up the A1 on to the M66 slip which takes you into south Darlington. The circut is then signposted
Just hope we dont have snow.

I'll be there (spectating) and like John H above used to live very local to the circuit (ex pat of Hurworth). I've driven Croft before the infield was opened up in an Uno Turbo back in '94. What I remember most was poor grip (did have a cheap surface back then but fairly sure it's improved now) and not much in the way of run off . It's also a fast circuit so should be good fun in a scooby as long as you remember about the poor run off.
